Volunteers are essential to meeting our mission. We are a small nonprofit that sustains and grows due to the help from our volunteers. We accept volunteers of all ages! Are you interested in volunteering?
New to 2024 Summer Camps
COUNSELORS IN TRAINING
For students 15 and older: Counselors-in-Training (CITs) assist the camp counselors in providing a safe and fun camp experience at the Great Swamp Conservancy. They will help lead environmental education activities, games, crafts, songs, stories, hikes, and more. In addition to supervising campers during the camp activities listed above, our CITs will also assist with camp preparation, check-in and check-out, and will serve as a positive role model for children in camp. This is a great volunteer opportunity for students that are preparing to apply for colleges or scholarships!
Thank you to the many voluntters we had in 2023! Here are a few things that they did:
-Sweep Museum - mop museum - clean bathrooms - take care of garbage -take care of recycling
-fill bird feeders - carry wood - clean turtle tanks - vacuum office -mop office - sweep office
-set up for events -clean up from events - set up for school filed trips - Winter Hibernation Festival
- Spring Migration Festival - Easter Egg Hunt - Fall Migration Festival - Halloween Fun Days
- Christmas Tree Sale - Repurposed Holiday Decor Sale -Kids Craft Workshop - wash tables & chairs
-teach school children - kids crafts & games - admissions - Lady Bug Cafe -popcorn - crossing guard
-marinate chicken for bbq - chicken bbq -mowing the lawn & trails - tractor & wagon ride driver
-give guided hikes - give guided bird walks - meet & greet visitors - weed the gardens -wash dishes
- Natural Garden - harvest vegetables - plant vegetables - create crafts - clean gift shop -shopping
-organize gift shop - wash windows - carry supplies between buildings - scheduling wolunteers
-create raffle baskets - trail work - fill Easter eggs - decorate for festivals - post signage - parade floats
