Forest Bathing: Spring Equinox

  • Great Swamp Conservancy, Inc. (map)

A guided Forest Bathing Walk is more than a walk in the woods. It’s one of the most powerful, accessible, and preventative health strategies we have today. June Leo-Randazzo, an Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) Certified Guide, will lead a series of forest therapy walks at the Great Swamp Conservancy throughout 2026!

Spending time in Nature is not only relaxing but it has been proven to be an intervention for mental, physical, and social well-being. Extensive Scientific Research Studies have shown that Nature: reduces stress, anxiety and depression, supports cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure, improves weakened immune health with an increase in the count of natural killer cells (NK cells) which are known to fight tumors & infections, encourages social cohesion, reduces obesity & sedentary behavior, improves focus, creativity, perceived well-being (a sense of aliveness, freedom, joyful playfulness, connection, clarity).

June will be offering a series of 3 Forest Bathing/Shinrin Yoku walks during the times of the solstices (longest & shortest days) & equinoxes (occur when day & night are equally long). Connection to Nature during the equinox & solstices is a sacred way for honoring the cyclical nature of life & fostering a deep personal connection with the natural world through Forest Bathing with added seasonal rituals & ceremonies which acknowledge the heightened energies during these times.
